Indiewalls designs by Trey

Overview

Beginning in 2015, I’ve been designing remotely for the early-stage startup Indiewalls. Their platform connects art buyers with independent artists all over the world, helping them buy the perfect artwork for any project. I’ve been responsible for designing experiences for creators, buyers, and internal tools.

Process

Projects typically start with a brief outlining business and user problems, user needs and features, other requirements, and supporting data. I then work with the PM to clarify the problem space, then I define a strategy, and then explore and deliver solutions. From there things move to wireframe stage, and finally go through interaction and visual design stages for final handoff to developers.

Outcomes
  • Created artwork catalog for customers to browse and search
  • Improved artwork purchase flows and project management tools
  • Improved artist inventory management and edit experiences
  • Established consistent UI and component library and patterns
  • Raised quality of customer-facing and internal tools throughout the Indiewalls platform
